We all love grog, right? That tasty drink based on rum, with some lemon juice, cinnamon, sugar, or whatever else you want to put in it. Of course, nobody in their right mind would drink the stuff you’d get when mixing up the Monkey Island recipe, as described by the important-looking pirates in The Secret of Monkey Island.

But a reporter from Argentina seems to think that’s exactly what young people do these days. During his ‘investigation’ on Facebook, he came across an especially shocking recipe for an alcoholic drink that young people in Argentina drink these days. Called ‘Grog XD’ (note the failure to recognize the smiley on the reporter’s part), it’s basically the Monkey Island grog mixture, with a few ingredients removed. The joke was lost on the ‘journalist’, as you can see:

It won’t be long before Wii owners will also be able to bask in the glory of The Siege of Spinner Cay. Telltale has announced that the second chapter of Tales of Monkey Island will be released for WiiWare on Monday in America. Other territories will follow soon after. Read all about it here!

Good news for all you pirates who have been reporting audio problems with Tales of Monkey Island chapter 2. Telltale have released an updated version, with improved audio quality, so those annoying pops and crackles that some of you experienced, should be gone forever now! You can download the updated version here.

So, the second episode of Tales of Monkey Island is here, and we’re already getting used to the Monkey Island renaissance. Telltale Games have been off to a good start with the new series, with chapter 1 getting good scores from reviewers. Now, can they hold on to that form? Even though the next chapter will be launched tomorrow, here’s a little teaser that might get you through this long day of waiting. Good ol’ TellTale, putting straws on the fire of the love that we all share for the Monkey Island series and— …I blew it.

Oh, just watch the clip! (no spoilers, really!)

Chapter 2 of Tales of Monkey Island, The Siege of Spinner Cay, will be released in just a few days. Getting excited yet? I bet you are, and to further whet your appetite, here are 3 new screenshots from the second chapter!

Remember the Treasure Hunt feature Telltale launched? Now it’s time to find the next map and we have the honor of hiding it from you!  The map  piece is hidden somewhere on all sites of the WMI family, which includes this very blog, World of Monkey Island, and the Monkey Island wiki.

None of them are particular obvious, but I know us adventure fans like a good challenge so I’ve hidden them well, but you only need to find one of the maps, so if you can’t locate it one of the sites, try on one of the other sites.

The prize? I won’t tell you, but in the words of Telltale ‘It’s got fun content for the series‘. So start huntin’!

If you find the map and click it, don’t worry if you can’t see it on your treasure page right away. You might have to scroll to the right a few times with the little red arrow to see it. It will of course also be in the game when you fire up chapter 1 and start scouring the jungle of Flotsam Island.

Want some hints? Really? You disappoint me! Alright, here are some subtle hints where to find the map:

On this here blog you’ll find it with the source of much rejoicing.
On World of Monkey Island it hides below three pirates.
On the Monkey Island wiki it can be found in the place where you meet them all.
