IncGamers have just posted a lovely interview with Dave Grossman, about the success of Tales of Monkey Island. In it, he divulges a tiny bit about the next and last episode, which will continue on the dark note that chapter 4 has introduced. When it comes to future Monkey Island series from Telltale though, Dave remains silent, promising only (through PR guy Chris) that an announcement will come soon, and saying that a lot is being worked on at Telltale.
So, any idea what that announcement might be? A new season of Sam & Max, an earth-shattering licence agreement, new IP, or already a new MI series? Take a guess in the comments, and if your idea turns out to be correct, you win eternal fame! (Which is worth at least one cookie on the Internet, if not two.)
Update: Also check out this interview with Joe Pinney on Boomtown.

I think it’s too soon for another Tales of MI, probably Sam&Max or some other stuff..
But maybe not, now that MI ist that popular again – perhaps they start the second season right away
If they do another Monkey Island series I can see the license becoming pretty played out, quite fast. I’d like to see a fifth game but I doubt Telltale would ever do it. Instead, I’m hoping more Sam and Max. That said, I would be an incredibly happy man if they ever took on the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy!
I don’t think that the MI-scenario gets boring, look at some TV-Series that have been running for decades.. I don’t see why MI should be any different
Thanks for posting that, it’s a great interview! I particularly agree with the comments Grossman makes about the episodic format, and how it means you engage with the game and the story over a longer period in real time. I’m an episodic convert.
Two words: Maniac Mansion
