CVG announced this and we’re passing on the cool news!
As you no doubt probably guessed, it’s a collection of all the Monkey Island HD Special Editions to date.
That includes Special Editions for The Secret of Monkey Island and Monkey Island 2: LeChuck’s revenge. The collection will also feature never-before-seen bonus content from the LucasArts vault.
Included in the bonus content is environment and character concept art, remastered and re-recorded soundtracks for both games, plus storyboards and concept art from an Industrial Light & Magic exploration of a Monkey Island animated movie that was never released.
The Monkey Island Special Edition Collection will release on September 9 for PS3, 360 and PC in Europe.
Worst. Title. Ever. My apologies, I was not very inspired BUT this dude found out that today, at midnight, Telltale Games will launch the remaining episodes of ToMI (2 – 5) on iPad, on the New Zeeland Store!
“The new episodes cost $9.99 each in New Zealand, which means £3.99/$6.99 in the UK and the US, making the cost of the whole five-part series £20.” – quoted from the article
If anybody owns an iPad, let us know how they roll! Do you still have the choppy-ness problems? How’s the sound? Let us know!
Sale is over.
On Steam you can get all five episodes of Tales of Monkey Island for only 11.19€ as it’s 66% off. I have no idea what the price in dollars or pounds are, but it’s 66% less than the normal price 🙂 This offer is a daily deal so it’s only good today. If you are one of those people that for some unexplainable reason doesn’t have TMI yet (or want to buy it for a friend) then start the Steam client and find the game or click here.
It’s not official, but it looks really cool! The figure is based on MI2 artwork and it even includes a “Stan’s Previously owned vessels” sign and a little Guybrush Voodoo Doll.
Remember this Horizons column about fan games? If you liked that, you’ll love this news. Giocherellone has undertaken the massive task of collecting, indexing, and archiving the LucasArts fan games known to mankind. The result can be found here at Mojo; it contains many Monkey Island fan games, and best of all, it has download links so you can actually play these games, some of which had been believed to be lost forever!
Arrrrgh! I wanna be a pirate! …oh, you do too? Well, now we both can!
Okay, okay, so it’s not Monkey Island… but it’s got pirates, guns, swords AND Voodoo Dolls! The game is called Risen 2: Dark Waters. For those who don’t know what this is all about, here’s a quick definition of this genre:
A role-playing game (RPG) is a game in which players assume the roles of characters in a fictional setting. In most modern RPGs, the player can complete quests in order to gain experience points which can be spent on upgrading the character’s stats (such as strength, dexterity, mana etc).

Bill Tiller has found another of his old sketchbooks, which is fortunate for us, because he posted some Curse of Monkey Island concept art from it. Here’s a list o’ links:
A very funny cartoon has just been put up over at Edd Egg. It’s a sort of interactive cartoony thing aka game, and it’s obviously based on The Secret of Monkey Island, but with a twist. Do give it a spin! (Thanks to gnomeslair for linking to it, otherwise I may never have known of its existence, thereby not being able to share it with you!)
