Polly: Your favorite ship?

October 18th, 2010 by | 8 comments

It seems like Telltale made the right decision when bringing back the beard on Guybrush as 77% prefer him with a bit of facial hair. This week we turn our gaze at transportation devices at sea and ask you which of the ships that Guybrush has commandeered do you think is the most aesthetic, humorous, practical, or generally most worthy of Guybrush and his crew’s presence?

Polly: Which ship is your favorite?

  • The Sea Monkey (26%, 21 Votes)
  • The Sea Cucumber (28%, 22 Votes)
  • The Dainty Lady (10%, 8 Votes)
  • The Screaming Narwhal (36%, 29 Votes)

Total Voters: 80

The Screaming Narwhal! That ship has so much character.

Even though the only one you ever get to see in much detail is the Sea Monkey, I had to vote the Narwhal. It just looks so awesome with it’s “build by sods” style.

Actually I would have voted for the Jolly Rasta given the opportunity but then again Guybrush never captained it which is the reason (I assume) that it’s not in the poll.

I went with the Narwhal too, there’s just something about that ship.

Agreed. That’s what GIVES the ship so much character! The fact that it’s built out of various, mismatching pieces of garbage that somehow come together to create something that looks truly awesome! The bowling pin on the ship’s wheel, the patched sails, the weather-vane (Guybrush’s little addition), the palm tree as the main mast… and who could forget the map? And this is only the outside of the ship!

I really hope that we get to see the interior in a future season/game.

I will never forget the reaction Guybrush had while first seeing the Dainty Lady…pretty much because I had the very same one. The “But it’s…pink” expression entered my vocabulary that day and I still use it every time someone even suggests that dreadful color. I wouldn’t say it’s my favorite ship by far but it sure made me laugh the most!

I voted for the Sea Monkey. I loved how you could visit all the rooms there, especially the captain’s cabin. Of all the ships in the games, I feel it felt most like a proper ship, just because you could explore it so thoroughly.

I’m so glad to see the Narwhal in the lead!
