Confirmed: No ToMI 2

February 18th, 2011 by | 6 comments

The last three games TellTale announced are:

King’s Quest: Not a port of the original, this will be an entire reboot of the franchise. Expect more details at E3 in June.

Puzzle Agent 2: Last summer Puzzle Agent, a bizarre take on the Professor Layton formula, was released on PC and iOS platforms (it’ll make its way to the PlayStation Network this spring). The sequel, Puzzle Agent 2, is coming this summer to all the same platforms. It again stars Agent Tethers and takes place in the snowy Midwest.

More Hector: Badge of Carnage: The first episode of Hector, a mature, gritty point-and-click adventure, was released independently by developer Straandlooper on the iPhone last summer (IGN gave it an 8.5). Telltale is partnering with Straandlooper to first bring Episode 1 to iPad, PC, and Mac this spring. Two more Episodes will be released later this year.

I’m really sorry for this. But hey, maybe the puzzles will be better than those in BTTF, who knows?

    I cried a little.

    I’m mildly interested in the Kings Quest reboot. I’ve never been a fan of the series, but I’m currently playing the remake of the original and enjoying it, so a reboot from Telltale will be interesting.

    I like the single episode of Puzzle Agent, so I’m excited about that.

      Yes, but I was really looking forward to this…

      It’s like I would make a movie based on the works of Shakespeare and then start making movies based on Hans C. Andersen’s Tales. Sure, the tales are pretty… but it feels like a downgrade.

      I don’t mind so much the fact that there’s no ToMI 2… I do think it’s a little unfair to have five new games that don’t resonate with me at all. Sure, it is all from an egocentric point of view, but that’s what happens when my inner child doesn’t get difficult puzzles in the BTTF Game.

    I liked Puzzle Agent, hopefully they can make the 2nd series even better. Most of the other new games don’t really do much for me, although Jurassic Park could be good. Still, sad there’s no new Monkey Island though. 🙁

    Even though there is no Monkey Island 2, the announcement of the new King’s Quest game made my day. Puzzle Agent 2 is also good news, and the Fables game look nice to me too. The other games, however, look a little too violent for my liking. But still, King’s Quest! And let us hope that Monkey Island will come next.

    I’m wondering what LucasArts has planned cause on their Twiteer back on New Years Eve they did state the following;

    “May next year be very LucasArts-ey and @Starwars -ey”

    So something will be announced in May but what could it be??? perhaps another Special Edition for another franchise, or maybe a whole new Monkey Island game???
