Ask a Monkeyologist: The Game! (April Fools!)

April 1st, 2011 by | 7 comments

APRIL FOOLS!! Haha! Thank you for your kind thoughts, but it was only a little prank 🙂 However, we DO hope that one day we’ll be able to launch a real Kauff and Gustav game.

We’ve been waiting for TWO…LOOONG…MONTHS to bring you this news! 😀

Yes, you’ve read that perfectly well! Kauff and Gustav, official game coming your way!

We got permission to post an ingame screenshot (work-in-progress, you can see that one of the textures is not quite right, and there are other crappy textures which will be replaced later) and a “Making Of” pic, featuring our talented artist and designer Amy working on some of the first concept art sketches.

Our awesome CEO kindly asked us not to mention the name of the gaming company yet (something about market-strategy), but we can confirm that it’s an American company.

Of course, no release date yet, but we’re extremely excited to (finally!) share this with you guys! So, what do you think, what do you think?? 😀

Horizons: Mad Jack the Pirate

March 5th, 2011 by | No comments

This week’s Horizons comes courtesy of a tip from plunderbunny481. She writes about a cartoon called Mad Jack the Pirate, which is “like BlackAdder, Monty Python, and Monkey Island rolled into one”. You can find the entire series on YouTube (please don’t sue us, we’re just linking to it).

In unrelated news, Bill Tiller has uploaded some cool concept sketches from the design document for Curse of Monkey Island. If you look closely, you may even be able to read some of the text! Here’s a list of the images:
