This week we continue our look at the MI games’ replayability and we’ve reached EMI. How many times have you played ‘Escape from Monkey Island‘? Only once? Twice? Once a year? Every Saturday? This week in Something of the Thread, I want to draw your attention to a letter to LucasArts that you can help write, asking them to make a new Monkey Island game, or to hand the rights to Telltale. The action started on the Telltale forums, and has now spread to our forums, thanks to SilverWolfPet. Additionally, angeldeb82 has made a game script for the first Tales chapter, and you can talk about the best bits in Escape from Monkey Island, or about the Monkey Island universe as a whole.
If you ever find yourself on Jambalaya Island and you’re completely thirsty, don’t just run to the nearest StarBuccaneers or Planet Threepwood. Consider a visit to the Micro-Groggery instead! It’s a quaint little place, where they serve lots of different grogs, among which Snoot Groggy Grog, Stale Ale, the delicious Siren’s Urine, and for the kids, Grog Jr. If you don’t feel like drinking grog (you call yourself a pirate?!), you can always try how long you can last on the Menacing Mechanical Manatee. Just don’t forget to bring your Jambalaya Bucks.
